Today I say a guy who actually used a Segway to get around. He was waiting for the N Train, but I wish I could have seen him zooming around running errands instead.

Christmas Dinner
We at a lot at Christmas dinner. A lot. Lil' Sis cooked a delicious Christmas breakfast of scrambled eggs, french toast and an entire package of bacon (I think we ate most of it - Shelby got the leftover bacon and the leftover bacon fat on accident) but I forgot to take a picture. I also got some bacon cooking instructions since I've never cooked my own. I was told that my Ma can tell when bacon is done by listening to it, which is the sign of a good cook if you ask me.We didn't eat our dinner until really late at night, around 10. Everything turned out real good, especially since the gravy turned out to be delicious (I mostly happy that at least it was edible - unlike my past two tries at turkey gravy.) It could have been a little more "chickeny" but I'll work on that next time.

Ornaments
Before I even get into the ornament itself, I need everyone to take a look at the beautiful tree topper Lil' Sis and I picked out for the magical tree. Growing up means that you get to indulge yourself in the things you were denied as a kid. LIke putting a 12 inch red blown glass tree topper on the top on the tree. So we got a blue one. With gold glitter details. It didn't help that this tree topper was among the most tasteful of tree topping options available at KMART in the last few days before Christmas.
This particular ornament is one of a pair. Sis made this I think in an effort to keep all of our ornaments from being tiny, although most of them ended up that way. There is also a tiny clay version of this ornament too. Which wasn't made on purpose. Lil Sis was just naturally drawn to the holiday color schemes of Pink and Yellow, or Red and Yellow, or even Pink and Orange. It was pretty funny because I don't think she was doing it on purpose. It just happened that way. More pics of the other ornaments a little later!

The Turkey Is Staring At Me
I figured I should go chronologically and post this Thanksgiving Turkey Picture before I get to the Christmas ones. Big Bro and I cooked a good turkey this year. Even without a proper roasting pan, or a rack to sit it on. (Note to self: Go to KMart and buy a pan now...instead of waiting for the day before Thanksgiving.) I could have bought an extremely fancy one from Bed Bath and Beyond, but all I really wanted was a good old Black With White Speckles Pan like my ma uses. Anyway. After putting one of the plastic turkey timers in, we decided it would be a good idea to put the other one in so the turkey had eyes. It looked like an alien. A sad alien.
We also decided to solve the mystery of the Turkey Timer. I hadn't ever thought about how one of those works since there isn't a thermometer attached to it. The obvious solution was to cut one of them open, and while he was finishing carving the turkey, Big Bro sliced one in half (perfectly by the way) to investigate the mystery. Turns out there must be a plastic piece inside that melts when the right temperature is reached, which released the tiny spring inside the timer and makes it pop up. I wonder who invented the pop up turkey timer. I bet whoever it was made millions.

INTERNET
Surprise! I finally got my internet back up and running. As most of you know, it stopped working about a day after I hooked it up the first time. I tried calling Verizon while Morsa was here but got discouraged by the automated computers telling me they had no information and the 20 minute hold times when they kept telling me it would take 5 minutes. This morning however, I wasn't put on hold, and the people I talked to were actually helpful. Turns out the whole thing was due to a faulty phone cord. Silly me, I figured the Brand New Phone Cord that was sent in the package with my modem would actually work. Guess I shouldn't have trusted the phone company with a simple phone cord.
This picture is from fall, before all the leaves fell off the trees. It certainly hasn't gotten any colder since then which is strange. I like seeing the trees with no leaves. It's kinda like seeing mountains with no trees on them to mess up the view. (You desert dwellers should appreciate that.) Especially because all of these trees are really big and old and twisty.
I have more pictures to post and more stories to tell. I'll do that later when I have more time to think about what I'm doing. Right now though, I have to take a shower and go to work.
