The one "modern" appliance I wish that I had is a dishwasher. I would love to be able to rinse my dishes, throw them in the machine, push a button, and wait for them to be clean. There is nothing more tedious than doing dishes day after day. I don't mind the occasional bowl. Or a handful of silverware. But I hate having to do a whole load of dinner dishes.
I'm not sure why "dishwasher" ranks higher in the appliance list over "washer" and "dryer." Maybe because I don't really mind going to the laundromat. All I have to do is put on my headphones so I don't have to hear the mothers yelling for their children (named Destiny, and Lexus - true story) and bring along a book and/or a copy of Harpers and I'm good to go.
Anyway. I really took this picture because of the colors. They're all primary. Pretty.

i have one. a dishwasher. my problem is using it. or. getting others to use it. ahem. ha ha ha.
Funny you should think about that. I have one, and the dishes come out looking worse than when they went in. Needs replacement. I've been searching for some parts, but they don't make or supply the old WD22Z0132 any more.Thats the lower spray arm. It's a metal gizmo with inserted plastic spray nozzles, and the nozzles are all gone long ago. So I think we get no real spray action. I've been thinking about getting a video camera and putting it inside, with some lights, so I could record and then watch the action, but that doesn't seem practical. Also thought about overriding the interlock so I could watch it with the door open, and that doesn't seem like a good idea either. So now I'm thinking about washing all the dishes by hand. I always rinse them so well they are nearly clean anyway, so a little more work and I'd be done. Saving all that extra hot water.
