Marathon!!!
Today is the day of the New York City Marathon. It's something that has been a long time coming it seems like. Shelby and I went for a walk and stopped a couple of places to stand and watch the river of people run by, or trudge by, or walk by. It's an amazing sight. I could sit out until dark and watch people run by (of course at the end, there are only stragglers) but the dog was getting impatient and nervous with all of the hooting and hollaring going on so we had to take off for home after an hour. Even with the pictures, my favorite thing is that the crowds watching along the sides are constantly yelling and cheering people on, which is why you'll see people with their names on their shirts - so we can all yell at them when they go running by. Here they are right by the Wiliamsburg Bridge - you guys should all know where this is...Here is up the same street - the marathon runs down Bedford Street, this is the corner of Bedford and South 4th.This one is on South 1st (I think) I mostly took it because the trees were so pretty. The guy running in front seems to be smiling. And of course...the dog.

why didn't you run?!?
I didn't realize the course went right through your neighborhood. I'm sure that was quite the sight, and sound. Thanks for the great pictures.
Can dogs be in the Marathon?
Can dogs be in the Marathon??
I didn't run because I'm too lazy to run a marathon. Those people are crazy, especially towards the end when people's nipples start bleeding because their shirts are chafing them.
And no, dogs can't run, although Shelby certainly has the energy to run a marathon.
